Ingredients

  • 12 count large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 12 count wonton wrappers
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp palm sugar or brown sugar

Instructions

    Pat shrimp dry. Wrap each shrimp tightly in a wonton wrapper, sealing the edge with a dab of water.

    Heat 1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high until a wrapper sizzles immediately when dropped in.

    Fry shrimp parcels in batches for 90 seconds per side until golden and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel.

    In a small bowl, whisk tamarind paste, fish sauce, sugar, and minced garlic until smooth.
