Ingredients
- 2 pieces (about 6 oz each) chicken breast
- 1 lb, thinly sliced russet potato
- 1 cup gruyère or emmental cheese, grated
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 1 clove garlic clove, minced
- 1 pinch, to taste salt and black pepper

Preheat oven to 425°F. Pat chicken dry and season all over with salt and pepper.

Arrange potato slices in a buttered 10-inch baking dish, overlapping slightly.

Whisk cream, garlic, and half the cheese in a bowl. Pour over potatoes.
