Ingredients

  • 4 sheets pane carasau (Sardinian flatbread)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 medium ripe tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 8 leaves fresh basil
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 400°F. Arrange pane carasau sheets on a sheet pan in a single layer.

    Brush both sides of each sheet with olive oil. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

    Bake until golden and crispy at the edges, 5–6 minutes. Remove and cool for 1 minute.

    Dice tomatoes. Mince garlic and stir together with remaining olive oil, salt, and pepper.

    Spoon tomato mixture evenly over warm pane carasau. Tear basil and scatter over top.

    Serve immediately while bread is still crispy.
