Ingredients
- 2 sheets (thawed) puff pastry sheets
- ½ cup dulce de leche
- 3 cups (for frying) neutral cooking oil
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1.5 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- ¼ tsp sea salt
Instructions
- 1
Cut thawed puff pastry into 12 squares (3x3 inches). Place 1 tsp dulce de leche in center of each square.
- 2
Fold each square diagonally to form a triangle, then press edges firmly with a fork to seal.
- 3
Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed saucepan to 350°F. (Oil should shimmer and a wooden spoon handle bubbles when dipped.)
- 4
Working in batches of 3–4, fry pastries 90 seconds per side until golden brown. Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate.
- 5
Mix cinnamon, sugar, and sea salt in a shallow bowl. Brush warm pastries lightly with melted butter.
