Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 cups neutral oil for frying
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

    Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Stir in water until a thick, sticky dough forms.

    Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (use a thermometer). Test with a small piece of dough—it should sizzle and float immediately.

    Transfer dough to a piping bag with a large star tip. Pipe 2-inch lengths directly into hot oil, using scissors to cut dough cleanly.

    Fry 4–5 pieces at a time for 90 seconds per side until golden brown and crispy. Don't crowd the pan.

    Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.

    While still warm, toss churro bites in cinnamon sugar until fully coated. Serve immediately.
