Ingredients

  • 2 cups waffle mix
  • 2 pieces chicken breast halves, boneless and skinless
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup maple syrup

    Preheat waffle iron and prepare batter according to package directions.

    Pat chicken breasts dry. Place each between plastic wrap and pound to 0.75-inch thickness.

    Mix flour, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl. Dredge both chicken pieces, shaking off excess.

    Heat oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high until it shimmers, about 90 seconds.

    Sear chicken 5–6 minutes per side without moving until deep golden and cooked through.

    While chicken cooks, pour batter into waffle iron and cook until golden and crispy.

    Transfer waffles to plates. Top each with one piece of chicken. Drizzle maple syrup generously.
