Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin tips, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 whole lime
  • 1 whole jalapeño
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
  • ½ whole white onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil

Instructions

    Pat beef dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt, pepper, and cumin.

    Heat oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high until it shimmers, about 60 seconds.

    Add beef in a single layer. Let it sear 2–3 minutes without stirring until edges brown.

    Stir and cook 1–2 minutes more until the pieces are browned on most sides but still tender.

    Toss in sliced onion and jalapeño (sliced or minced, seeds removed if you prefer less heat).

    Squeeze the lime over everything and stir. Remove from heat and fold in cilantro. Serve hot.
