Ingredients

  • ½ lb ground beef
  • 4 count pita bread (pocket pitas)
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely diced
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sumac or lemon juice
  • ½ tsp ground cumin

Instructions

    Mix ground beef, diced onion, parsley, sumac, cumin, salt, and pepper in a bowl until just combined.

    Gently open each pita along the edge to create a pocket; stuff each with 2 tbsp beef mixture.

    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high until shimmering, ~60 seconds.

    Pan-fry arayes 2-3 minutes per side without moving them until edges turn golden brown and crispy.

    Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels; let cool 1 minute to set the crust.
