Ingredients

  • 6 sheets Phyllo dough sheets
  • 1 cup Cottage cheese
  • 3 count Apples, medium
  • 3 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp Butter, melted
  • ¼ cup Raisins or currants

Instructions

  1. 1

Peel and slice apples into thin matchsticks. Toss with 2 tbsp sugar, cinnamon, and raisins.

  2. 2

Mix cottage cheese with 1 tbsp sugar until combined.

  3. 3

Lay one phyllo sheet on a work surface. Brush lightly with melted butter. Layer two more sheets, brushing each.

  4. 4

Spread half the cottage cheese along the long edge, leaving a 2-inch border. Top with half the apple mixture.

  5. 5

Roll tightly from the filled edge, tucking in the sides as you go. Transfer seam-side down to a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  6. 6

Repeat with remaining phyllo, butter, cheese, and apples. Brush both rolls with remaining butter.

  7. 7

Bake at 400°F until golden brown, about 12–15 minutes. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar if desired.
