Ingredients

  • 4 slices brioche or challah bread, sliced 1 inch thick
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 6 oz fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. 1

Spread cream cheese on two bread slices, then layer with strawberry slices. Top with remaining bread to make 2 sandwiches.

  2. 2

Whisk eggs, milk, and sugar in a shallow bowl until smooth and well combined.

  3. 3

Heat butter in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high until foaming, about 90 seconds.

  4. 4

Dip each sandwich into egg mixture, coating both sides thoroughly but not soaking. Place in the hot skillet.

  5. 5

Cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and edges look crispy. The center should feel soft when pressed.

  6. 6

Slide onto a plate and serve immediately with extra fresh strawberries on the side.
