Ingredients

  • 4 slices rye bread
  • ½ lb corned beef, sliced
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • ¾ cup sauerkraut, drained
  • ¼ cup Russian dressing
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened

Instructions

    Spread butter on both sides of each bread slice, dividing evenly.

    Spread Russian dressing on two bread slices, about 2 tbsp each.

    Layer corned beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut on each dressed slice.

    Top each sandwich with remaining bread slice, dressing side down.

    Heat a skillet over medium-high until a drop of water sizzles, ~90 seconds.

    Place sandwiches in skillet. Cook 3–4 minutes until bread is golden brown.

    Flip carefully. Cook 2–3 minutes until second side is golden and cheese melts.

    Transfer to a cutting board. Slice diagonally and serve immediately.
