Ingredients

  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying

    Pour milk mixture into dry ingredients. Stir until just combined; batter should be thick and spoonable.

    Heat oil in a heavy pot or deep fryer to 350°F. Use a thermometer to verify the temperature.
