Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 8 slices brioche or challah bread
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ⅛ tsp salt

Instructions

    In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.

    Heat a 12-inch nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon butter.

    Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture for 2-3 seconds per side, allowing excess to drip off.

    Place 3-4 coated slices on the hot skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

    Flip carefully and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes until golden.

    Transfer to a serving plate and keep warm. Add remaining butter and repeat with remaining bread slices.
