Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on two sides.

    Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, ~2 minutes. Do not brown.

    Remove from heat. Stir in cocoa powder until no lumps remain, ~1 minute.

    Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir vigorously until the mixture is smooth and glossy.

    Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the prepared pan using a rubber spatula.

    Refrigerate until firm, at least 30 minutes. Cut into 16 squares and serve.
