Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 box (9 oz) no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 1 to taste salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Add diced onion, cook 3 minutes until softened.

    Add ground beef, breaking up with a spoon. Cook until no pink remains, ~6 minutes.

    Stir in marinara sauce. Simmer 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

    In a bowl, combine ricotta, 1.5 cups mozzarella, parmesan, egg, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.

    Spread 1 cup meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.

    Layer 3 noodles, then half the ricotta mixture, then 1 cup sauce. Repeat layers.

    Top with remaining noodles, sauce, and 0.5 cup mozzarella.

    Cover with foil. Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake 10 minutes until cheese bubbles.
