Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla gelato or premium vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup espresso (freshly brewed, very hot)
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for rimming cups)
  • ¼ tsp cocoa powder or chocolate shavings (optional garnish)

Instructions

    Chill four small cups or glasses in the freezer for 2 minutes.

    Scoop one ball of gelato (about 1/2 cup) into each chilled cup.

    Brew 1 cup espresso and pour it over the gelato immediately while boiling hot.

    Serve immediately. Stir and eat as the gelato melts into the espresso.
