Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¾ cup chocolate sauce (store-bought or melted chocolate)
  • ½ cup dulce de leche

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix flour and water in a bowl until a thick, paste-like dough forms with no lumps.

  2. 2

Heat 2 inches of neutral oil in a deep skillet to 375°F, ~8 minutes. Oil should shimmer and a pinch of flour should sizzle immediately.

  3. 3

Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 4-inch lengths into hot oil, using scissors to cut. Fry in batches without crowding.

  4. 4

Fry until golden brown and crispy, ~2 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to turn once halfway through. Drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

Mix cinnamon and sugar in a shallow dish. Toss warm churros to coat generously while still warm.

  6. 6

Warm chocolate sauce and dulce de leche in separate small bowls. Serve churros with both dips on the side.
