Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup white frosting
- ½ cup chocolate ganache
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease two 9 inch round cake pans. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 3 eggs, 0.5 cup oil, and 1 cup water. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.
- 2
Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 25-30 minutes. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- 3
Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread about 0.5 cup of the white frosting over the top. Place the second layer on top. Frost the top and sides with the remaining frosting, smoothing with a spatula.
- 4
Warm the chocolate ganache slightly so it is pourable but not hot. Drizzle it over the top of the cake, letting it drip down the sides. Top with fresh berries if desired.
