Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 1 28-oz can canned crushed tomatoes
- 2 15-oz cans canned kidney beans, drained
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste

Heat a large pot over medium-high. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, until no pink remains, ~6 minutes.

Add diced onion and cook until softened, ~3 minutes. You'll smell the onion become sweet.

Stir in chili powder and cook until fragrant, ~30 seconds.

Pour in crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, and beef broth. Stir to combine.

Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
