Ingredients
- 4 links bratwurst sausages
- 1 large yellow onion
- 3 tbsp whole grain mustard
- ½ cup beer (lager or pilsner) or chicken broth
- 2 pieces crusty bread (rolls or baguette)
- ¼ tsp caraway seeds (optional)

Slice the onion into 1/4-inch-thick rings. Heat oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high.

Add onions, sprinkle with salt. Cook 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until edges char and soften.

Push onions to the side. Place bratwurst in the skillet, sear 3 minutes per side until golden brown.

Pour beer into the pan, scraping up browned bits. Simmer 2 minutes until liquid mostly evaporates.
