Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

    Combine butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves, ~2 minutes.

    Stop stirring. Let mixture bubble gently for 3 minutes—it will darken and smell nutty but not burn.

    Remove from heat. Carefully pour in cream—it will bubble and steam; stir until smooth.

    Stir in salt. Cool for 2 minutes until it thickens to drizzle consistency.

    Transfer to a jar or bowl. Sauce thickens more as it cools.
