Ingredients

  • 1 lb lutefisk (prepared/thawed)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 whole lemon (juiced)
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 pinch sea salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high until crispy, ~6 minutes. Transfer to a plate, crumble when cool.

  2. 2

Pat lutefisk dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet and let it melt and foam, ~90 seconds.

  4. 4

Slide lutefisk into the butter in a single layer. Spoon melted butter over the top for 4 minutes.

  5. 5

Flip lutefisk gently and cook 3 more minutes until it's heated through and opaque but still silky.

  6. 6

Squeeze lemon juice over the fish. Top with crumbled bacon and fresh dill. Serve immediately.
