Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 burger buns
- 8 slices bacon
- 4 eggs
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Divide the 1 lb ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties slightly wider than the buns. Season both sides with the 1 tsp salt and 0.5 tsp black pepper.
- 2
Cook the 8 bacon slices in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and pour off most of the fat, leaving a thin coating.
- 3
In the same skillet, cook the patties over medium-high heat until browned and cooked to your liking, about 4 minutes per side for medium. Place 1 slice of cheddar on each patty during the last minute to melt.
- 4
Fry the 4 eggs in the remaining fat over medium heat until the whites are set and the edges are crispy, about 3 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- 5
Toast the 4 buns in a dry skillet or toaster until golden. Spread 0.5 tbsp mayonnaise on each bottom bun, then layer with a patty, 2 bacon slices, and a fried egg. Top with the other bun half and serve.
- 6
Let the burgers rest for 2 minutes before serving so the juices settle and the cheese sets slightly.
