Ingredients
- 1 loaf (day-old) brioche or challah, cubed (about 4 cups)
- 1.5 cups whole milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 3 whole eggs
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp butter

Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter a 8-inch square baking dish generously.

Whisk together milk, cream, eggs, sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla in a bowl until smooth.

Layer bread cubes into the baking dish, dot with butter, then pour custard over until bread is soaked.
