Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 medium onions, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 500 g ground beef
- 2 tablespoons curry powder
- ½ teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ½ cup dried apricots, chopped
- ¼ cup raisins
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 medium apple, grated
- 2 slices bread, cubed
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 whole bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 whole eggs
- ½ cup milk, for topping
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric, for topping

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Soak bread cubes in milk for 5 minutes, then squeeze out excess liquid.

Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned, about 8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.

Stir in curry powder, turmeric, and cumin. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add tomato paste and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute.

Pour in beef broth and add bay leaf, apricots, raisins, grated apple, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Fold in the soaked bread cubes and remove from heat. Discard bay leaf.

Transfer beef mixture to a buttered 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading evenly.

In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and turmeric. Pour evenly over the beef mixture.
