Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb fresh blueberries
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

    Add blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, and salt to a medium saucepan.

    Stir once to combine. Heat over medium until the mixture begins to bubble, ~4 minutes.

    Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until berries burst and sauce thickens, ~6 minutes.

    Remove from heat. Let cool for 2 minutes — the compote will thicken as it cools.

    Transfer to a bowl or jar. Serve warm or at room temperature.
