Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs beef sirloin or chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 can (14.5 oz) canned crushed tomatoes
- ½ cup red wine
- 4 cloves garlic cloves, minced
- 1.5 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- ½ cup beef broth

Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high until shimmering.

Working in batches, sear beef cubes without stirring for 2 minutes per side until browned. Transfer to a plate.

Add minced garlic to the skillet, cook 30 seconds until fragrant, then stir in tomato paste for 1 minute.

Pour in wine and broth, scraping up browned bits from the pan bottom. Add crushed tomatoes and oregano.

Return beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper. Simmer uncovered for 12 minutes until sauce thickens and beef is tender.
