Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium tomato
Instructions
- 1
Finely grate the onion and mince the garlic. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, garlic, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp salt, and 0.5 tsp black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- 2
Shape the mixture into 4 oval patties, about 0.5 inch thick. Press them firmly so they hold together during cooking.
- 3
Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties in a single layer, making sure not to crowd the pan.
- 4
Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through. They should feel firm to the touch and reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
- 5
Slice the tomato into thin rounds. Serve the hot kababs with the tomato slices and extra onion rings on the side.
- 6
Let the kababs rest for 2 minutes before serving to keep them juicy.
