Ingredients
- 1.5 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1.5 tbsp curry powder
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ½ cup dried apricots, chopped
- 3 tbsp mango chutney
- 1 medium apple, peeled and grated
- ¼ cup almonds, sliced
- 2 slices bread, cubed (1 cup)
- ½ cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 pinch salt and black pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350°F. Soak bread cubes in milk for 5 minutes, then squeeze out excess.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Brown ground beef, breaking up with spoon, ~6 minutes.

Add onion and garlic. Stir until softened and fragrant, ~3 minutes.

Sprinkle curry powder and turmeric. Stir constantly for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add apricots, chutney, grated apple, almonds, and soaked bread. Stir to combine.

Season with salt and pepper. Transfer beef mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Whisk 2 eggs with remaining milk. Pour evenly over beef. Top with remaining egg yolk mixed with 1 tbsp milk.

Bake until custard is set and golden on top, 20–25 minutes. Custard should jiggle slightly at center.
