Ingredients
- 1.5 cups sticky rice (glutinous rice)
- ¾ cup coconut milk
- ¾ cup water
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 large sheets banana leaves (or parchment paper)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Rinse sticky rice under cold water until water runs clear, about 1 minute.

Combine rice, coconut milk, water, and salt in a pot. Stir, bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.

If using banana leaves, quickly soften over a gas flame or in hot water, then divide rice between the leaves and fold into parcels.

If using parchment, divide warm rice between two sheets, fold loosely, and let cool 1 minute.
