Ingredients

  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 whole egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a standard 12-cavity donut pan.

    Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

    Add egg and milk to flour mixture. Stir just until combined; batter should be thick.

    Transfer batter to a piping bag. Pipe into donut cavities, filling each about two-thirds full.

    Bake 10–12 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean and donuts are golden.

    Cool in pan 5 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.

    Whisk powdered sugar and milk until smooth and pourable. Dip warm donuts.
