Ingredients
- ½ lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 4 slices bacon strips
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 buns hamburger buns
- 1 tablespoon butter
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 leaves lettuce leaves
- ½ medium tomato
- 2 slices red onion
- 2 slices pickles
- 2 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- ½ teaspoon mustard
Instructions
- 1
Cook bacon strips in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- 2
Slice tomato into rounds and thinly slice red onion. Wash lettuce and pat dry.
- 3
Form ground beef into 2 patties about 0.75 inches thick. Make a small indent in the center of each with your thumb. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- 4
Heat a 12-inch cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook beef patties for 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness. Top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and cover with a lid for 1 minute until melted.
- 5
Butter the inside of the hamburger buns and toast them in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden.
- 6
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, followed by ketchup and mustard. Layer with lettuce, tomato slice, and onion.
- 7
Place a cheeseburger patty on the vegetables, then top with 2 crispy bacon strips and pickles. Crown with the top bun and serve immediately.
