Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 small head (about 1 lb) green cabbage, cored and cut into 1-inch chunks
- 1 medium yellow onion, cut into 1-inch wedges
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- ½ cup water
- ½ tsp black pepper

Cook bacon pieces in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until crispy and brown, about 6 minutes.

Add onion and cabbage to the skillet with the bacon and fat. Stir to coat.

Pour in vinegar and water, then scatter black pepper on top. Cover the skillet.

Cook covered over medium heat, stirring every 2 minutes, until cabbage is tender but still has a bite, about 10 minutes.
