Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread slices
  • 1 medium apple
  • ¼ cup walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. 1

Toast the 2 bread slices until golden and crisp, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside.

  2. 2

Core and thinly slice the 1 apple. Chop the 0.25 cup walnuts into small pieces.

  3. 3

Melt the 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the apple slices and cook until they begin to soften, about 3 minutes.

  4. 4

Sprinkle the 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon over the apples. Stir and cook until the apples are tender and caramelized, about 2 more minutes.

  5. 5

Divide the apple mixture evenly over the toasted bread. Top with the chopped walnuts and serve warm.
