Ingredients

  • 1 box (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry sheets
  • 3 medium Granny Smith apples
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large (for egg wash) egg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. 1

Peel, core, and dice the apples into 1/4-inch pieces. Toss with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.

  2. 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high. Add the apple mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and syrupy, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Thaw the puff pastry sheets slightly (3–4 minutes) until pliable. Cut each sheet into 4 equal squares.

  4. 4

Place 2 tbsp apple filling in the center of each pastry square. Fold diagonally to form a triangle and press edges to seal.

  5. 5

Whisk the egg with 1 tbsp water. Brush over each pastry. Arrange on a sheet pan.

  6. 6

Bake at 400°F until puffed and golden brown, 10–12 minutes. Cool 2 minutes before serving.
