Ingredients

  • 14 oz extra-firm tofu
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp scallions, chopped

Instructions

  1. 1

Drain tofu and wrap in a clean kitchen towel. Press for 10 minutes to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

Cut tofu into 0.75-inch cubes. Pat dry with fresh paper towels.

  3. 3

Toss tofu with cornstarch, salt, and pepper in a bowl until fully coated.

  4. 4

Whisk soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic in a small bowl.

  5. 5

Arrange tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with neutral oil.

  6. 6

Air fry at 400°F for 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.

  7. 7

Transfer cooked tofu to a skillet over medium heat. Pour the glaze over and stir gently.

  8. 8

Cook 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu, then drizzle with sesame oil.

  9. 9

Garnish with chopped scallions. Serve over steamed rice or with stir-fried vegetables.
