Ingredients

  • 14 oz extra-firm tofu
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1.5 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 stalks scallions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. 1

Wrap tofu block in paper towels and press for 10 minutes to release moisture.

  2. 2

Cut pressed tofu into 0.75-inch cubes. You should have about 16 pieces.

  3. 3

Mix cornstarch, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.

  4. 4

Toss tofu cubes with the cornstarch mixture until evenly coated.

  5. 5

Whisk together soy sauce, vinegar, honey, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil in a small bowl.

  6. 6

Arrange coated tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces.

  7. 7

Air fry at 400°F for 15 minutes, shaking basket halfway through. Edges should be golden-brown.

  8. 8

Transfer tofu to a bowl. Drizzle with the soy-ginger glaze and toss gently to coat.

  9. 9

Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds. Serve over steamed rice or greens.
