Ingredients

  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for coating)

Instructions

  1. 1

Combine water, butter, and salt in a saucepan. Heat over medium until butter melts and steam rises, ~2 minutes.

  2. 2

Remove from heat. Stir in flour until a thick, sticky dough forms.

  3. 3

Let dough cool for 5 minutes until it's cool enough to handle but still warm.

  4. 4

Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Coat the air fryer basket with oil.

  5. 5

Pipe 3-inch-long churros directly into the basket in a single layer, spacing them 1 inch apart.

  6. 6

Air fry at 380°F for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until deep golden brown.

  7. 7

Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Toss warm churros in the mixture until fully coated.

  8. 8

Serve immediately while still warm and crispy.
