Ingredients
- 1 cup Nutella (or hazelnut-chocolate spread)
- 1 whole large egg
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
- 1
Set the oven to 350°F and wait until the indicator light or beep tells you it has finished heating, about 10 minutes.
- 2
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper by laying a sheet of parchment across the entire surface and pressing it flat.
- 3
Pour 1 cup Nutella into a medium mixing bowl and break the egg into the bowl on top of the Nutella.
- 4
Use a fork to beat the egg and Nutella together, stirring in the same direction for about 30 seconds until the mixture is uniform and no egg-white streaks remain.
- 5
Add 0.5 cup flour to the bowl and stir with the fork until you see no dry flour specks, about 20 seconds; the batter will be thick and glossy.
- 6
Drop rounded tablespoon-sized portions of batter onto the parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart—you should have roughly 12 cookies.
- 7
Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges look set and slightly darker than the center but the top still appears a little soft.
- 8
Remove the baking sheet from the oven using an oven mitt and set it on a heat-safe surface to cool for 5 minutes—the cookies will firm up as they cool.
- 9
Once cool enough to touch, use a wide metal spatula to lift each cookie from the parchment and transfer to a serving plate or cooling rack.
