Ingredients

  • 1 box (plus oil and water per package) brownie mix
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp chocolate shavings or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

    Mix brownie batter per box instructions; divide in half between two 6-inch cake pans or small bowls lined with parchment.

    Microwave each half 2 minutes until set but still moist. Cool for 3 minutes, then invert onto a plate.

    Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar, cocoa powder, butter, and vanilla until stiff peaks form, ~2 minutes.

    Layer: place one cake layer on a plate, spread half the frosting on top, add second layer, spread remaining frosting on top and sides.

    Scatter chocolate shavings over top if desired. Chill 5 minutes before serving.
