Chicken Crust Pizza with Marinara and Mozzarella

This chicken crust pizza is a lighter twist on classic pizza where the crust is made from seasoned ground chicken instead of dough. The chicken bakes into a firm, golden base that holds rich marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. Once everything melts together in the oven, the result is a crispy-edged, cheesy pizza that’s savory, satisfying, and packed with protein.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ½ cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese (for topping)
  • 1 Fresh basil leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. 3

In a large bowl, add the ground chicken, egg, ½ cup mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 4

Use a spoon or clean hands to mix everything together until it is evenly combined.

  5. 5

Place the chicken mixture onto the parchment paper.

  6. 6

Use your hands or a spoon to press the chicken mixture into a large flat circle about ½ inch thick, shaped like a pizza crust.

  7. 7

Put the crust in the oven and bake it for 15 minutes until the chicken is cooked and the edges start to turn golden.

  8. 8

Carefully take the pan out of the oven.

  9. 9

Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the baked chicken crust.

  10. 10

Sprinkle the 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese and 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese over the sauce.

  11. 11

Place the pizza back in the oven and bake for another 8–10 minutes, until the cheese melts and starts to bubble.

  12. 12

Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle fresh basil on top if you like.

  13. 13

Let the pizza cool for 3–5 minutes, then slice and serve.
